Trending: Non-Surgical Treatments for Men

When it comes to aesthetic beauty, women tend to get all the attention, but that doesn’t mean men don’t care about their appearance too. For the men out there who may be feeling left out, we are here to help!

At Schwarz Plastic Surgery in Montreal we have several non-surgical treatments that are perfect for men looking for noticeable results with little to no downtime, and with far less discomfort than the more traditional surgical alternatives.

Here are four non-surgical treatments catered specifically to men:

Facial Rejuvenation with Botox and Filler
Botox and fillers are not just for women. Men also need help combating signs of aging and injections are a great start.
Fillers are most often made of hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar found naturally in our skin. By adding volume we can better define features, lift the skin, and even provide a nourishing/hydrating effect to the skin.
Fillers are used to refresh and augment areas of the face that have lost volume, such as the cheeks, jawline and chin, creating a more “chiseled” appearance. Injectables have proven uses and benefits for facial rejuvenation. When used in tandem with Botox and injected strategically, they can have a remarkable effect and help slow the signs of aging, all while looking totally natural.

You might have heard this term before: Neuromodulator. Botox is a neuromodulator! This substance relaxes muscles to soften the wrinkles caused by those muscles contracting. It can be used on the forehead, around the eyes and mouth, on the chin, and more. Effects show within a week and last for three to four months. Men’s muscles tend to be stronger and may require more Botox than women.

It is important to have these injections performed by an experienced doctor or nurse injector who has a comprehensive knowledge of facial anatomy, as complications do occur. These risks should be discussed with your doctor prior to injection.

Jaw-line reshaping
Whether you want to add definition to your jawline or refine its overall shape, there are nonsurgical options that can provide notable results. Fillers can help reshape, accentuate, and augment the chin and jawline for a more refined profile. Botox can be used to target and relax the masseter muscles, which will help decrease an overly square shaped jaw that is often caused by grinding the teeth or clenching the jaw.

Non-surgical Nose job
A non-surgical nose job is a quick and nonsurgical alternative to an actual surgery and can achieve amazing, long-lasting but still temporary transformations. Using fillers, I’m able to enhance the tip, fill bumps, and otherwise reshape the nose. Depending on the extent of the injections, the results can be seen almost immediately and generally last between six months and a year.

PRP for Hair loss
One of the most frustrating things for a man can be thinning hair and growing bald spots. The treatment we recommend to both halt the thinning process and encourage healthier hair growth is PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma treatment.

This three step process uses your own blood to rejuvenate capillary tissues. We begin the treatment by first drawing some of your blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge machine to separate the PRP from the platelet-poor plasma and the red blood cells. Once the PRP has been isolated, it is injected directly into the scalp where it will increase blood flow and strengthen the fair follicles. Since the blood is your own, there is no chance of your body rejecting or reacting negatively to the treatment.

PRP therapy usually comprises three to four treatments at four to six week intervals, followed by a single maintenance treatment every six to 12 months.

When it comes to fat reduction, CoolSculpting is a comfortable and easy alternative to liposuction or a tummy tuck.

The CoolSculpting device suctions onto areas of excess fat and freezes them without damaging the skin, leading to the permanent destruction of fat cells through the process of cryolipolysis. This treatment is not intended for overall weight loss but to target areas with excess fat. It can be used under the chin, on the abdomen, on the upper arms, and inner and outer thighs.
